Darjeeling Margaret's Hope Summer Chinary Black

Darjeeling Margaret's Hope Summer Chinary Black

Margaret's Hope Tea Estate, originally established as Bara Ringtong in 1864, carries a poignant legacy rooted in its verdant gardens. In 1927, the estate’s owner, Mr. Cruikshank, renamed it in memory of his daughter, Margaret, who had fallen in love with the estate’s enchanting landscape and dreamed of making it her home. Tragically, on her voyage back to England, she contracted a tropical illness and passed away. In a heartfelt tribute, her father ensured her spirit would live on in the gardens she adored—renaming the estate Margaret's Hope.

Cradled in the misty Kurseong valley at elevations of 3,500–6,000 feet, the estate’s terrain is ideal for tea cultivation. Its predominantly Chinary cultivar bushes yield teas of exquisite fragrance and refined character, making Margaret's Hope a name cherished by connoisseurs worldwide.

Every cup from this storied estate carries Margaret’s memory and the timeless charm of the Darjeeling hills. Rooted in love and nurtured by nature, Margaret’s Hope remains one of the most revered gardens in the world of fine teas.
