Darjeeling Castleton Spring Chinary Black

Darjeeling Castleton Spring Chinary Black

Cradled in the mist-draped slopes of Kurseong, Darjeeling, Castleton Tea Estate has embodied tea excellence since its founding in 1885 by Dr. Charles Graham. Once known as “Kumseri,” the estate takes its name from a castle-like bungalow that once overlooked its rolling terrain. Today, Castleton is celebrated worldwide for its heritage China bushes, exceptional terroir, and unwavering craftsmanship.

Ranging from 1,000 to 1,830 meters in elevation, the garden draws its distinct character from a rare harmony of altitude, soil, and climate—producing teas with the floral intensity and muscatel nuance that define Darjeeling’s finest expressions. It was also the first estate in Darjeeling to earn ISO 9002 certification, marking it as a pioneer of quality.

With over a century of artisanal cultivation, Castleton remains a living legend. From its mist-fed gardens to its luminous teas, it stands not just as a tea estate, but as sacred ground where mountain, earth, and sky come together to craft the world’s finest cups.
